1. What Y2mate does
Y2mate is a free web tool. When you paste a YouTube link, we look up the video through a third-party service and show you the download options YouTube makes available for it. Download buttons link straight to those files. We do not host, edit or store the videos themselves.
2. Using Y2mate responsibly
You may use Y2mate for personal, lawful purposes. When you use it, you agree that you will:
- only download videos and audio that you own, that you have permission to save, or that are offered under a licence allowing it;
- respect the rights of creators and follow copyright law where you live;
- follow YouTube’s own terms when you use content from YouTube;
- not use automated scripts, scrapers or bots to send large numbers of requests, or try to disrupt or break the service;
- not use Y2mate to share, sell or redistribute material you do not have the rights to.
3. Your responsibility for downloads
You are responsible for what you choose to download and how you use it. Y2mate does not check whether you hold the rights to a particular video, so please make sure you do before saving it.
4. Third-party services
Y2mate relies on outside services to work, including YouTube and the video information service we use to look up links. Thumbnails are loaded from YouTube, and the optional preview player is provided by YouTube. We are not responsible for those services, their content or their availability, and their own terms and policies apply.
5. No guarantees
We work hard to keep Y2mate running smoothly, but the service is provided “as is” and “as available”. We cannot promise that every video can be looked up, that every quality will be listed, or that the site will always be online or free of errors. Features may change or be removed at any time.
6. Limits of our responsibility
As far as the law permits, the team that runs Y2mate cannot be held responsible for knock-on losses of any kind, such as lost files, lost income or harm caused by using the site or a file you saved with it. Consumer rights that the law says can never be taken away are not affected by anything on this page.
7. Copyright concerns
Own a video or a song and think Y2mate is being misused to copy it? Write to the help desk with the YouTube link, a short description of your work and your contact details. Every genuine report gets a prompt, careful look.
8. Changes to these terms
These rules may be revised now and then. The “Last updated” line near the top tells you when that last happened. Carrying on with Y2mate after a revision counts as accepting the new wording.
